Dr. Abratowski grew up in the Detroit area and did his undergraduate work at the University of Michigan in physics. He completed his Masters in Materials Science & Engineering at Stanford University and worked in technology development at Intel in Silicon Valley before starting medical school at Oregon Health & Sciences University.

He moved on to New York City for his residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai, and he has been practicing hospital medicine at Mills Peninsula since.

Dr. Abratowski lives in San Francisco with his cat where he is a member of the San Francisco Film Society and the Museum of Modern Art. He enjoys traveling and is learning Spanish.
